It’s that time of year again –Mother’s Day! Did it sneak up on you? If so, and you’re in a bit of a pickle with no ideas for what to do or buy, don’t worry! You’re in the right place. We’ve created a list to sort of guide you through some gift ideas for your momma. Let’s begin!

Tania Floral

Flowers always make for such a classic & elegant gift. If you want to buy the dreamiest flower arrangement in London for your mum, look no further than Tania Floral. Tania strives to design classic, ethereal pieces that stylistically reflect her clients (in this case, yo mamma). She’s hosting a pop-up shop on Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM. with fresh tied bouquets (starting at $50.00), houseplants, and lovely letterpress cards for sale–just in time for Mother’s Day!

Tania Floral is located on 99.5 Stanley Street, and as mentioned the pop-up shop goes until 5 PM. but you should try to go early because these flowers will be going like hot cakes!

Regency Florist

Regency Florists is another amazing place to buy flowers in London. In fact, SixFive’s founder Tyler has been going to them for all his flower needs in the past few years and says they’ve got an incredibly wide selection of lovely flowers and many different price points to choose from. So whether you’re looking for a simple and affordable option (like hand tied bouquets starting at $24.99) or a super fancy flower arrangement, the kind people at Regency Florists are certainly able to hook you up!

Regency Florists is located on 1080 Adelaide St N, London, and is open on Friday until 6 PM., Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM. and is closed on Sundays.

Purdy Natural

Purdy Natural is another purdy great shop you should check out for your purdy momma (sorry, I had to). They sell natural soaps, lotions, deodorants, body mists, makeup, and more all made from scratch with only the highest quality ingredients, free of any parabens, fragrances, perfumes, dyes and harsh chemicals. At Purdy Natural, they believe “if you can’t eat it, you shouldn’t put it on your skin.” How bow dat?

Purdy Natural is located on 111 Mount Pleasant Ave., and is open Friday until 6:00 PM., and Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 AM. to 4:00 PM.

MOOD & Co. Candles

MOOD & Co. candles are 100% Soy Wax candles. If you don’t know a lot about soy wax candles, prepare to be mind blown. Okay so… first of all, soy wax “burns cooler” meaning they last 30-50% longer than a paraffin candle. They also contain NO toxins, no carcinogens or pollutants (which means it’s less likely to trigger allergies), no petrol-carbon soot like you get from petroleum-based paraffin candles, and are naturally biodegradable which makes accidental spills easier to clean. So basically they’re amazing. And what MOOD & Co has done is combine soy candles with essential oils for a slow burning, gradually released scent that creates the perfect atmosphere and is sure to put your mom in a…wait for it.. good MOOD! Also the packaging & branding is super on point.

MOOD & Co. has a special Mother’s Day Scent called “lighten up mom” and their candles can be found at Purdy Natural, Filthy Rebena, and Ritual cafe.

Filthy Rebena

Filthy Rebena is a quality thrift & vintage shop where you can find tons of unique pieces. Whether it’s pins, patches, scarves, clothes, jewelry, bags, or succulents sitting in handmade ceramic pots, Filthy Rebena has lots of products that would make for amazing Mother’s Day gifts. ALSO, if your mum is a coffee lover, you’ll be happy to know that they currently have an incredible promotion going on right now where you can buy half a pound of Patrick’s Beans PLUS your favourite vintage mug for just $12.

Filthy Rebena is located on 177 Dundas St, London, and is open Friday until 7 PM., on Saturday from 11 AM. to 7 PM, and Sunday from 12 to 5 PM.

Soft Flirt

Soft Flirt is an independently run brand featuring handmade items like her custom banners which feature phrases like “nope”, “yikes”, and “dream on.” This is not your traditional Mother’s Day gift, but moms come in all shapes, sizes, and levels of coolness so if your mom is super hip and would appreciate this type of humour and style, then head over to Filthy Rebena to see some Soft Flirt banners, t-shirts, and mountain shaped pillows in person.

all set up at punk rock flea, here til 5, come say hi! #prfmldn

Urban Outfitters

The gift section at UO is honestly so on point. One of my favourite gifts I’ve ever bought is from there and it’s a ‘fill out together book’ called “You, Me, US.”  It’s (as the name suggests) a book that you fill out together–spending time together actually answering silly questions about favourite foods, or drawing out matching tattoos for example. They have tons of books like this, as well as other neat little gifts like a mini indoor bonsai tree, a 30-day-challenge notepad, and a Fujifilm Instax Mini.

Urban Outfitters is located on 43 Richmond St, London, and is open Friday and Saturday from 10 AM to 9 PM, and Sunday from 11 AM to 7 PM.

Chapters/Indigo

This store is where my wallet goes to lose weight if ya know what I mean. Honestly, the gift section is just so jam packed with amazingness. Whether it’s books that your mum would be interested in, or a herb growing kit for under $20 (you read correctly), some punny tea called “You’re the Berry Best”, a jewelry box, a coconut milk mango gift set (in a lovely little tropical bag she can use forever), or some mom vouchers that she can cash in at any time, there’s got to be something here for your mom.

Chapter’s is located on 1037 Wellington Rd and Indigo is located on 86 Fanshawe Rd. They’re both open on Friday and Sunday from 9:30 AM to 10 PM, and on Sunday from 10 AM to 9 PM.

YOU (Youth Opportunities Unlimited)

Breakfast in bed is a classic – but what if this time round, your breakfast gives back? Jams made by youth at the Next Wave Youth Centre in Strathroy are a perfect gift. YOU – Youth Opportunities Unlimited is a nonprofit serving youth in the London-Middlesex area. They help youth struggling with diverse issues such as homelessness, unemployment, and poverty. They’ve also made a special Mother’s Day basket which can be purchased for $30 with proceeds going back to YOU. It’s the gift that keeps on giving!

While the YOU Made it Cafe on York and Richmond is not open on the weekends, YOU jams are available at Farmboy or at the Covent Garden Market. The pumpkin butter and peach salsa flavours are delicious!

Moksha Yoga

Last but not least: an experience gift. Because not all gifts need to be material items! There are many to choose from in London and it really depends on what your mum’s interests are but one that I’d personally recommend is Moksha Yoga. It’s a unique hot yoga series that combines the precision of therapeutic yoga and the foundations of traditional yoga in a specially heated room. Classes are suitable for all levels of ability, even absolute beginners who have never practiced yoga and may have limited flexibility! Oh, and they just so happen to have a Mother’s Day class for FREE so… y’know, that’s amazing.

Moksha Yoga is located on 425 Southdale Rd W as well as 677 Richmond St. Hours may vary.

Concluding Remarks

I just want you to take a moment to think of how much your mum has done for you. Like since the beginning…She birthed you, changed your diapers, fed you, taught you how to walk, took care of you when you were sick, made you feel better when you were feeling down, and so on and so on. Right? I mean, I know not everyone is lucky enough to have an amazing mother, but if you do, then I really hope that you will take some extra time to go above and beyond for her this weekend. I know we should do it every day, but most of the time we are so absorbed in the business of our own lives that we don’t give enough love and attention to our mommas! And if you do, great, but what’s wrong with doing something a lil extra? It can be anything. You don’t need to spend money on a material thing. But just do something okay? Whether it’s something on this list or a handmade card and some good ol’ fashioned breakfast in bed, remember to make your mum feel like the absolute QUEEN she deserves to feel like. Okay. That’s it. Happy Mother’s Day weekend!
